Monitoring of an international registry of 1200 transplant patients affected by sickle cell disease.
Cordons de vie has financially supported this action which will allow to follow up on the patients affected by sickle cell disease who have been transplanted with stem cells transfusion and to analyse any development on these patients.
This support is one of the most important objectives of the Association: the support of the research and its application on the patients.

CORDONS DE VIE SUPPORTS PROJECTS TO TACKLE THE SICLE CELL DISEASE
Funds have been donated to Nigeria in order to equip two drugstores with meds to tackle the sickle cell disease.
Cordons de Vie has decided to support ALDN (Association de Lutte contre la Drépanocytose au Niger – Association to tackle the sickle cell disease in Nigeria) to equip two drugstores with meds, allowing this Nigerian association to meet the point 3 of its strategic plan: to develop treatments to tackle sickle cell disease and to allow the access to meds by developing the drugstores.
Allocated Budget: 2.500 euros
Urgent funds donated to Madagascar to purchase meds against sickle cell disease.
Support and training groups about the treatment of the sickle cell disease are organized every month by the ONG OCDMF in 10 regions of the Country. Meds are divided following the needs of the different regions and are re-packed and managed by the referring doctors.
Allocated Budget: 4.900 euros
Treatment of 250 children affected by sickle cell disease, monitored by the Centre of Sickle Cell Disease in Bamako, Mali, directed by Professor Dapa Diallo.
The Research and Fight against Sickle Cell Disease Centre opened in Bamako on March 15th, 2010. It has been created thanks to the joint action of different actors, including the Monaco Government which, with an agreement to finance over the period 2009-2012, has contributed to build infrastructures and to take car of the patients.
Our action concerns the financing and delivering of 250 vaccines destined to children affected by sickle cell disease and who suffered immunodeficiency.
This support is one of the most important objectives of the Association: let the less fortunate to benefit from treatments already experimented that normally they cannot access without an economic support.
